Lights, Camera, Engage #TeamDeltaT on location at Bangkok
The recently released game teaser for ‘Delta T’ our Augmented Reality MMORPG was entirely shot in Bangkok, Thailand. The puzzled expressions we got from people when we picked Bangkok was part of the reason I chose to write this piece after the shoot. We also wanted to give our readers an exclusive look at how the entire shoot played out and transport them onto the Delta T set.
Bangkok with its vibrant street life, notorious nightlife, and the sprawling metropolitan architecture was on our bucket list of locations for the shoot. After a preliminary recce, we decided that the eye-popping skylines and the contrast offered by the shady underbelly of the city served as an interesting canvas for the teaser and decided to dive in.
We spent the first couple of days familiarizing the entire Bangkok cast and crew with the game and how it works. The city with its intricate roadways and beautiful architecture was the perfect place to test out the game build and we didn’t want to waste any of the valuable time we had here. We got to work testing out the build ‘outside our home country’ for the first time. We were pleasantly surprised at how the maps were rendered without any glitches in spite of the dense and packed alleyways (Will be doing a post on how location affects gameplay to explain).
We explained the nuances of the location-based gameplay to the cast and crew sharing the build with them and getting their feedback on how we could represent it. The core team spent two days of scouting for the right location and we finally zeroed in on Bangkok University. The setting was picturesque, the futuristic cityscape with the wide open spaces was the perfect location for the shoot.
The team of the much-lauded motion picture ‘Baahubali’ has been roped in for the shoot and we were eager to get started. S.S Karthikeya (Producer) and Vijay Yelakanti (Director) got to work setting up the entire camerawork, lighting and briefing the cast and crew. There was a palpable sense of excitement in the air as the crew got down to business.
Here are a few candid shots of the crew in action!

The cast has officially been #Inked and the Megacorps find their first recruits. The PvP battle was a joy to shoot and the crew was on its toes throughout the day.

The footage has been shot and the post-production has been completed in Hyderabad. The audio for the teaser was composed by Kaala Bhairava, son of the famous film composer M.M. Keeravani. The end product is something we are very proud of and we hope you have as much fun watching it as we did making it.
